Mission Activities
Missions - Serving Others in the Name of Christ
AUSTIN ANGELS - We have “adopted” Austin Elementary School this year, and are beginning a ministry with them, both students and staff.
BEAN MONTH - Our men are participating in an Area-wide program to raise $5,500 to purchase 11 tons of pinto beans for the Good Samariton Refugee Center in Los Fresnos.
CROP WALK - in October of each year we participate with the Abilene Association of Congregations in their annual CROP walk, raising money for local and national food programs.
MAKE-A-DIFFERENCE DAY - each year members participate in this community project.
THANKSGIVING - Each year we collect food to provide 3-4 boxes of foodstuffs for 15-20 families in Abilene.
DECEMBER - we work with Call for Help and provide assistance for 6-8 families who have no other recourse at this time of the year.
OTHER PROJECTS - Have included Habitat for Humanity Houses and work days at Lake Brownwood Christian Retreat, to name but two.
Our theology of Mission is simple - if a member perceives a need
and presents it - we respond.
